Buzz Aldrin was an American astronaut, engineer, and fighter pilot. As Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo 11, he descended to the Moon with Neil Armstrong aboard Eagle and became the second human to walk on the lunar surface. His work helped prove that astronauts could operate effectively outside a spacecraft.
